Parish Profile

Since our vision morning on 31st January, the PCC have selected a team of 5 people, who will work together to write the Parish Profile.

We were delighted that the vision morning brought together 35 of our church family who were able, with Archdeacons Phil and Richard, to contribute to the start of this profile document. Your contributions from the day and from the feedback form are all being taken into consideration - it's important to all of us that the many varied voices that make up our church family are represented.

During this time of interregnum, the PCC and all who serve continue to move forward in faith. God continues to provide many opportunities for us to share His love through our areas of mission and we continue to respond to that.

We are privileged to have children as young as 1 years old through to people in their 80s. We have people who have been at the church for 40 years as well as people who have just started worshiping with us.

Our kids & youth provision continues to be a valuable way to help young people develop their faith and, having secured funding from the Diocese in February 2026, we are underway in recruiting a full time Children, Youth & Families Team Leader.

Our varied service styles mean we get to encounter God in different ways and provide many different ways to invite people to St Paul's and St Tim's.

What is the Parish Profile?

The Parish Profile is our way of presenting who (as the communities of St Paul's and St Tim's) we are, what we are about, what we want to become and how God is at work here, through us and in our parish. It will be used during this period of interregnum to signpost potential vicars who may be called to lead us and is designed to help them consider whether their gifts, leadership and vision for church community align with ours.

How are the Parish Profile team progressing?

The selected team of 5 represent many different aspects of who we are as a church. They have been meeting weekly since April and are advanced in writing the document and are in regular contact with the diocese.

In early May, the team met with the newly appointed PCC to update them on progress and continue to progress the work which is expected to be completed by the summer.

If you have any questions about this process, please email hello@stpaulsdaybrook.co.uk

What happens then?

Once the profile is finished, the next part of the process will be advertising the role of Priest in Charge and then arranging interviews for candidates. It is a requirement that this stage involves two members of the PCC & those members will be selected in good time. The PCC will continue to provide updates at services, through the weekly newsletter and on this website as we move through the process - it is important to us all that all members of our church family feel they are aware and involved in this process.

Reflections so far...

At the meeting in January, we found it a great source of encouragement that we were the first in 30 churches going through the parish profile process to rank children and youth work as the focus area we have had most growth in - valid acknowledgement of the work done in this area of our mission and to the wonderful young disciples who are part of our church.

Thank you for taking the time to submit the feedback forms ahead of the parish profile meeting in January. Below are some of the key outtakes.

As the team have moved through writing the profile, they too have been encouraged by the fellowship of working on this together.

At our recent APCM in May, we were able to celebrate and praise God for many different aspects of our church life. We were able to see how God is at work in our local parish through the lens of the 7 Areas of Focus detailed in the Diocesan Vision.

How you can help

Pray for the process

Please be in prayer for St Paul's and St Tim's during this period of interregnum. That God will take us from where we are to where he wants us to be & that everyone in our church community feels God's support, encouragement & direction & that whilst there is much to do, we all remember that this is not ours alone to carry.

Pray for our people

Please hold in your prayer the five selected members of our church community who will compile the parish profile. Pray that they hear God in their conversations, planning, writing and editing and are guided by the spirit to capture every part of who we are as a church community. Pray that the individual gifts and talents that God has given them will be a blessing on the process.

Anything you want to know?

The PCC are committed to being as open and transparent about the whole process as possible, so if at any point you feel out of the loop please just speak up! We are in this, prayerfully, together and in the loving hands of God who will hold and guide us through this next season.
