The Parish Profile is now written, signed off by the PCC and the Diocese and so we now move to the next phase of the process which is to advertise the vacancy for Priest-in-Charge of St Paul's with St Timothy's, Daybrook.
Following the vision morning on 31st January 2026, the PCC selected a team of 5 people, who worked together between April and August to write the Parish Profile.
We were delighted that the vision morning brought together 35 of our church family who were able, with Archdeacons Phil and Richard, to contribute to the start of this profile document. Your contributions from the vision morning and from the feedback form were all taken into consideration as the profile was progressed. It was important to all of us that the many varied voices that make up our church family were represented.
What is the Parish Profile?
The Parish Profile is our way of presenting who (as the communities of SPD and St Tim's) we are, what we are about, what we want to become and how God is at work here, through us and in our parish. Now that the profile is written, it will be used to signpost people who are looking for a Priest-in-Charge role and who may be called to lead us. It is designed to help them consider whether their gifts, leadership and vision for church community align with ours.
Who was involved in writing the profile?
The selected team of 5 represent many different aspects of who we are as a church. They met weekly between April and July to gather information, write the content, design the profile and review the content. During this period of time they also worked with contacts at the diocese and the PCC.
What happens now?
We will begin advertising for the role of Priest-in-Charge at the start of September 2026 which will be followed by interviews. It is a requirement that interviews involve two members of the PCC & those members will be selected in good time.
The PCC will continue to provide updates at services, through the weekly newsletter and on this website as we move through the process - it is important to us all that all members of our church family feel they are aware and involved in this process.

Reflections so far...
At the meeting in January, we found it a great source of encouragement that we were the first in 30 churches going through the Parish Profile process to rank children and youth work as the focus area we have had most growth in - valid acknowledgement of the work done in this area of our mission and to the wonderful young disciples who are part of our church.
As the team have moved through writing the profile, they too have been encouraged by the fellowship of working on this together.
At our recent APCM in May, we were able to celebrate and praise God for many different aspects of our church life. We were able to see how God is at work in our local parish through the lens of the 7 Areas of Focus detailed in the Diocesan Vision.

How you can help...
Please be in prayer for SPD and St Tim's during this period of interregnum. That God will take us from where we are to where He wants us to be & that everyone in our church community feels God's support, encouragement & direction. There is much to do, but may God remind us that this is not ours alone to carry.
